Kitchen Remodels in Santa Clarita
Los Angeles County · 45–65 min from our office
Kitchen and bathroom remodels, whole-home updates and additions across Santa Clarita, from Old Town Newhall to Valencia, Saugus and Canyon Country.
Santa Clarita is four communities in one city. Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus and Valencia incorporated together in December 1987, and residents still tend to name their community rather than the city. Newhall is the oldest, dating to the town Henry Mayo Newhall established after he bought Rancho San Francisco in 1875. Valencia is a master-planned community, and Saugus and Canyon Country filled in with tract homes over the following decades.
Most Santa Clarita homes are single-family houses from the 1960s onward, many in planned neighborhoods with associations. Kitchens and bathrooms that are thirty to fifty years old are the usual starting point, along with opening up closed layouts and adding a room where the lot allows. The canyons and hillsides around the valley are in fire hazard zones, and inland summers are hot.
The City of Santa Clarita runs a Permit Center at City Hall on Valencia Boulevard that combines building, planning and engineering at one counter. Santa Clarita sits at the eastern edge of our service area, about 45 to 65 minutes from Santa Paula by way of Highway 126 through Fillmore and Piru.

Newhall has the oldest homes, some from the early and mid twentieth century, on smaller lots near the old town. Saugus and Canyon Country are dominated by tract homes from the 1960s through the 1980s, many single-story with original layouts.
Valencia and newer areas like Stevenson Ranch have planned neighborhoods with associations and larger two-story homes, where remodels center on kitchens, primary bathrooms and outdoor living.
Original kitchens and bathrooms in 1970s and 1980s homes are the most common remodel. Layout changes often need a beam and a permit.
Hot summers make insulation upgrades, efficient windows and shade structures worth including when walls or the back yard are being worked on.
Homes in the canyons and on hillsides around the valley are in fire hazard zones, where additions and exterior changes follow Chapter 7A standards.

Yes, though it is at the far eastern edge of our service area, about 45 to 65 minutes away along Highway 126. We take Santa Clarita projects we can staff and supervise properly, usually larger remodels and additions, and we are upfront about scheduling. Luis is still on the job in person.
No. Stevenson Ranch and some other nearby communities are unincorporated Los Angeles County, so permits there come from LA County building services. Valencia, Saugus, Newhall and Canyon Country are inside the city and use the Santa Clarita Permit Center. We confirm your parcel first.
Older Newhall houses near Old Town often need electrical and plumbing updates along with new kitchens and bathrooms, and some are on raised foundations that may benefit from a seismic retrofit. We look at the panel, the plumbing and the foundation at the first visit so the estimate reflects them.
Yes. Valencia neighborhoods usually require association approval for exterior changes, additions and patio covers. We prepare the drawings and material information the association asks for, then pull the city permit once approval is in hand.
