Kitchen Remodeling in Saticoy, CA
New kitchens for Saticoy homes, from small kitchens in Old Town's older houses to larger kitchens in the newer neighborhoods annexed to Ventura.
Kitchen Remodels for Saticoy homes
Saticoy is about 12 to 20 minutes from our Santa Paula office, which makes it one of the easiest places for us to run a kitchen remodel. The community has two very different kinds of homes. Old Town Saticoy, laid out in 1887 along the rail line, has modest older houses with small kitchens, older wiring and plumbing that has been patched over the years. The newer neighborhoods, now part of the City of Ventura, have larger kitchens that mostly need updating rather than repair.
The permit office depends on which part of Saticoy you are in. Old Town is unincorporated, so the County of Ventura issues permits there. The rest of Saticoy is in the City of Ventura, whose counter on Poli Street is closed Fridays. We check the parcel first.
In Old Town, we look at the panel, the plumbing and the floor at the first visit, since an older house often needs those updated along with the cabinets.
This page covers Saticoy specifically. For materials, process and costs in general, see our kitchen remodeling page, and for permits and neighborhoods, our Saticoy service area page.

Planning a kitchen remodel in Saticoy
Old Town Saticoy kitchens are usually small and need systems updates along with new cabinets: a panel upgrade, new supply lines and leveled floors. In the Ventura-annexed neighborhoods, kitchens need mostly finishes.
We confirm whether the County or the City of Ventura issues the permit, then prepare drawings while you choose materials. Being 12 to 20 minutes from our office makes deliveries and inspections easy to coordinate.
Cabinets and counters are ordered before demolition.
Saticoy was laid out in 1887 along the railroad, and some Old Town houses are among the oldest homes near our office. Their kitchens are usually small, sometimes with a dining area squeezed into the same room. A tighter layout with drawers, tall pantry cabinets and a counter-height peninsula can make that space work much harder. If a wall has to move, we check whether it carries the roof before planning around it.
In the parts of Saticoy annexed by the City of Ventura, homes are newer and kitchens usually need finishes, lighting and appliances rather than a new layout. The City of Ventura's permit counter handles those, while Old Town goes to the County of Ventura. We confirm the office from your parcel before drawing anything.

Kitchen Remodels in Saticoy: FAQs
Who permits a kitchen remodel in Saticoy?
Old Town Saticoy is unincorporated, so the County of Ventura permits it. The rest of Saticoy is in the City of Ventura. We confirm by parcel.
Can a small Old Town Saticoy kitchen feel bigger?
Yes. Upper cabinets to the ceiling, drawers instead of doors, lighter finishes and better lighting make small kitchens work better. Removing a wall may also be possible.
Does my older Saticoy home need a panel upgrade for a new kitchen?
Often. Older homes may not have capacity for modern appliance circuits. We check it at the first visit.
How long does a Saticoy kitchen remodel take?
A remodel that keeps the layout typically takes a few weeks of construction. In older Old Town homes, panel upgrades and plumbing replacement can add time. We give you a schedule with the estimate and order materials before demolition.
Does Old Town Saticoy have special rules for kitchen remodels?
Old Town is unincorporated, so County rules and permits apply. Interior kitchen remodels follow the standard County building permit process.
Can a Saticoy kitchen remodel include a built-in dining nook?
Often. A built-in bench with storage underneath and a small table can fill a corner that is hard to use otherwise, and it frees up floor space compared with loose chairs. We design it with the cabinets so it looks like part of the kitchen.
